LIVE CHAT! Several of the cast of On The Run will be featured on a LIVE chat on Yahoo Chat! The date will be Saturday, September 16th at 6:00 PM EDT. Guests will be Sopranos stars, Michael Imperioli and John Ventimiglia, as well as director, Bruno de Almeida.

Although I know Joaquim cannot attend, let's show our support for this film and Joaquim by joining in! I will be attending the chat and would love to meet all of you.

On The Run will be premiering at the Screening Room, NYC, September 13th. At the moment, Joaquim is not expected to attend due to his schedule. However, if you are near NYC, or can get there - this is a really good film. Joaquim is great in it! (see the In The Spotlight section of this site for my review).

UPDATE ON ABANDONED BULLETS: I've seen on several movie sites that Joaquim has been cast as the lead actor in this film. However, I have it straight from CNI Films, that this is a "project" rather than a production. I'd like to see this movie get made as it looks like a strong role for Joaquim.

Get thee to a video store this summer! As discouraged as I have been because many of Joaquim's recent movies haven't played in theatres near me... I am heartened by the selection in video stores. Vendetta, One Man's Hero and Dollar for the Dead all have been released on video and easily available at your local video store. And, in June you will be able to rent a copy of La Cucaracha!

November, 2001
Joaquim has a new American movie coming out! It's called Behind Enemy Lines and will be released on November 30th!<. It also stars Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman. There's a good photo of Joaquim on the offical movie site. I'll see if I can obtain permission from Fox Movies to post it here on the site.

In other news, yes, Joaquim is single again, however he does have a girlfriend. He has also opened a restaurant in Libson. I don't have the name of it at the moment, but it specializes in Brazilian food.

February, 2000

Joaquim has been in Toronto filming the seventh episode of a new series "FALCONE" based on the Doni Brasco story that should air around the middle of March. His character's name is Cesar Nicoletti (underboss of the Mafia). This information comes directly from Joaquim.

Look for One Man's Hero at your local video store. I am not sure if it will have state-wide distribution, but my local video store in Sedona, Arizona has it listed to be available on February 29, 2000.

Also, during the first week of March, Vendetta which was an made-for HBO movie will be available at video stores. I have seen this one and it is a very good role for Joaquim. And of course he was wonderful in that role!

August, 1999

Joaquim is filming in Spain for a TV mini-series. It also stars Anthony Quinn. The projected air date is sometime in 2000. I am checking to find out if this will be aired on American TV.

Joaquim recently filmed a movie called, One Man's Hero, which was scheduled for release in November. Alas, the company that distributes the film did not choose to release it in the United States. I'll do my best to find out more information about this.

We have long since joined with the members of the Tom Beringer Mailing list to help in working to have One Man's Hero widely released. Originally, this movie was to have been released in September of 1998, but alas, that didn't happen. Then, we heard that it was to have limited release this month in selected cities - but alas that too never happened. There were plans to release it on a wider scale this coming September (1999) but whether or not that will happen is not certain.

MGM has been going through some corporate upheaval in these last few weeks due to MGM's continued financial losses. Officially, last month, MGM contacted a member of  the Tom Berenger Mailing List and indicated that they felt OMH was too "Anti-American" to appeal to audiences in the U.S. and plans were to release it in a limited run, primarily, in what they termed as, Latino and Mexican communities.
 

Indications are that the new top officers at MGM may be more receptive to giving their attention to OMH and its release. We are optimistic that new Chairman, Alex Yemenidjian and Vice Chairman, Chris McGurk feel differently about OMH and will listen to what fans are saying about this film.

Now, more than ever, you need to write again to MGM using the addresses below. We also need to step up this campaign with letters to the media to help promote this film.
