We live in a world in which the lack of values, the egoism and the money cult are a constant in our lives, particularly for those who live in big cities.

The hurry to arrive who-knows-to-where, the brutal competitiveness at work, the mixture of very different individuals and an out-of-control workaholism generate anxiety and restlessness, which do not allow us to see and value what there actually is all around us. These are, I suppose, some of the reasons that took me to write such a story.

In the film, the main character, Adolfo, is a despotic, workaholic, misogynist film producer who has a wife and a lover, to whom he usually do not pay any attention. Not even his own four-years-old daughter makes him happy. For Adolfo, money and social status are the most important things, the only important things in life. The power he holds over his subordinates, his associates and even over his wife, makes him a king in his own and well-built reign.

The film shows a day in the life of Adolfo, a character that we will get to know by reaching to his inner thoughts through the voice-over.

This medium-length film is a critique of every facet of power, of the absurd hurry of the occidental man to get nowhere, of the lack of fundamental principles such as respect to the others and, by the way, of the dark side of the world of motion pictures.

In "Hombres Tranquilos" ( Quiet Men), the scenery, the rest of the characters, the music and the city itself are as vital as the leading actor. Thanks to the style of direction, agile and dynamic, and in some cases shaking, the spectator can feel Adolfo's stress in his own skin and, thus, feel closer to him.
